Brad Daily & Dale Horeczy

Brad and Dale started Kricklewood Farm in 2009 as a new farm on a historic farm property southwest of Ottawa. The thought kept on going through their minds, and in their conversations, ‘why not here in the Ottawa area?’ And that set them on their quest to produce the finest quality sunflower oil. They seeded their first crop in 2012, and with their traditional cold press machine they are producing delicious, fresh and pure sunflower oil.

Heavenly Honey

Heavenly Honey

Bill and Catherine Thurlow

Bill Thurlow has been happily working with bees for 40 years. The transition from hobby to business resulted from a request from a gift shop for some of his honey. That was 25 years ago and Heavenly Honey products are now in demand at many Ottawa-area specialty shops; he’s also branched out to sell his honey through bakeries and restaurants or for corporate gifts and fundraisers.

Passing on the health benefits of fresh, pure, unpasteurized honey are important to Bill and Catherine, so their products are packaged on site. Heavenly Honey is available in comb or liquid form or deliciously enhanced with fine liqueurs or cinnamon. Other popular products include wax, pollen, candles and gift baskets. Rounding out their busy schedule, the Thurlows appear at many craft, food and gift shows and proudly point out that, “as a family business for the last 20 years, we know the value of diligence and effort. Thankfully, so do our bees!”
