The Manotick Butcher
The Manotick Village Butcher is a traditional “nose to tail” butchery specializing in locally sourced, dry aged meats. They work with farmers who raise animals sustainably and responsibly without using growth hormones or routine antibiotics. According to James “selling meat from local producers is better for the environment, supports out community and just plain tastes better”. The Manotick Butcher aims to provide the best, top quality meat at reasonable prices as well as making their own in-store sausages, meat pies, and other prepared foods. It doesn’t end there, they also carry local milk and eggs and a selection of cheese.
Located in the heart of the Glebe, McKeen Metro Grocery Store has been providing locally sourced food since the early 20th century. McKeen’s Metro believe that the distance from farm to plate should be limited. This benefits the local farming economy but also the health of customers and their families. McKeen Metro is a medium through which delicious local food is made available to the community. You can find everything from local beef, turkey and dairy to seasonal fruits and vegetables. McKeen Metro Glebe is a leader when it comes to eating local!
