Miller’s Bay Farm

Miller’s Bay Farm

Shannon & Robert Miller

For more than 125 years, the Millers have been pouring into this little family farm. As the 4th generation, we look back with admiration and gratitude; and forward with hopeful expectation of what’s still to come.

Besides Ready-Picked and Pick-Your-Own Strawberries, Miller’s Bay Farm grows a variety of vegetables. These include – but are not limited to – Asparagus, Beans, Tomatoes, Cucumbers (yes, the pickling type too!), Sweet Corn, Potatoes, Squash and Pumpkins.

The village of Lombardy is the closest ‘dot on the map’ to the farm. Smiths Falls and Perth, both within a short – and pleasant – drive, are our nearest town centres.

We look forward to welcoming your family to our farm, which is also our home!

Flat Earth Farm

Flat Earth Farm

Denise and Phil Mount

At Flat Earth Farm, though we have decades of combined experience in farming, we are relatively new shepherds, less than a decade into sheep farming. We endeavour to give our animals as full, healthy and happy a life as possible. We have slowly built our flock and the prolific Katahdin rams have introduced genetics of foragers with high quality meat—no wooly taste, but full of flavour enhanced by a free range silvo-pasture diet and carefully harvested forages.

We transform ground and stewing meats—from the animals raised on our farm—into sausages and kebabs in our food trailer, The Sheepdog Grill, and then take the show on the road. The new travelling food show balances farming with other old skills—we’ve made our own sausages for years, and Denise spent her adult life in the food service industry. After testing and perfecting the marinades and grilling, we will be serving these indulgences fresh off the grill in 2023, at fairs, festivals and events across the Ottawa Valley.

Indian Creek Orchard Gardens

Indian Creek Orchard Gardens

Marisa Buccione & Scott Sigurdson

Indian Creek Orchard Gardens is an organically managed micro farm, intimate in scale. We are nestled on five acres along the shores of Indian Creek, just outside Pakenham. At Indian Creek Orchard Gardens we are experimenting with a hybrid of permaculture, agroforestry and organic farming principles. Our vegetables are alley cropped between rows of fruit trees, bush fruits and aisles of grape vines. We have purposefully left tracts of our farm wild, especially on the creekside.

We value what nature brings to the table and attempt to work with it, bringing our intervention to a minimum. We favour low tech, 100% natural, cultural and biological practices over chemical and heavily mechanized ones. Some of what we are attempting to do is tried and true and a lot of it not so much. Every day in the garden is a lesson.

Our goal is to provide a satisfying stream of safe, organic, wholesome fruit and vegetables for our community the whole growing season long.

Blue Shoes Honey

Blue Shoes Honey

Brian Lacey

Blue Shoes is a family business where our goal is to produce a superior quality, artisanal honey while treating our bees with love and respect. At a time when many businesses believe that bigger is better, our bees have taught us that small is beautiful. We plan to maintain a modest operation that serves the local community and allows us to treat our bees as partners rather than possessions. To guarantee the purity of our honey we never use synthetic chemicals or antibiotics on our bees. Our honey is cold-processed (Raw) or minimally heated (Liquid) in small batches to preserve its pollen content, unique floral character and living enzymes.

In gratitude to honeybees and all pollinators, 10% of our profits are donated to pollinator research and conservation efforts.
