Proulx Sugarbush and Berry Farm

Proulx Sugarbush & Berry Farm

Gisele & Francois Proulx

“My grandfather traded syrup for grain,” says Francois, who represents the third Proulx generation on the 200-acre spread established in 1920. Today the 15-acre sugarbush with its 150 seat restaurant is open from end-February to mid-April, serving a traditional sugar bush brunch. In summer, berry picking, the petting barn, mazes and play parks are the focus for school tours, group events and family outings. There is even an annual berry festival, June 21 & 22 this year, which is followed by an annual pumpkin festival in the fall (Sept – October 31).  Gisele and Francois encourage visitors to “spend a day in the country, yet only minutes from the city.”

The Proulx family actively supports the Cumberland Resource Centre (CRC), the Navan Animal Rescue Corporation (NARC) and local sports fundraising. Funds raised from special activities are donated to the CRC and the NARC where animals are sheltered at the farm during the summer and receive plenty of petting and possibly inspire adoption.
