Caron are obviously the initials of Jean-Baptiste, but it was only after the 3rd generation that the name of the business was changed to L’Érablière J.B. Caron in memory of its founder.
In 1950, Gérald Caron, son of Jean-Baptiste and Fidélia, and his wife Mercedes Carpentier took over the sugar shack until 1985.

In 1990, the couple’s 4 sons took over, devoting themselves to maple syrup production. In 1999, Paul Caron and his wife Monique Arsenault became the owners and made major investments, including building a reception hall to serve traditional sugar shack meals and host events of all kinds for the rest of the year.

Now in her 4th generation as a maple syrup producer and with nearly 18,000 taps, Mylène Caron, daughter of Paul and Monique, and her husband Frédéric Tremblay Carle are taking over the reins of Érablière J.B. Caron.
What unites them all is a love of nature and, above all, of the pleasures of the maple tree, which are synonymous with good food.
The Érablière J.B. Caron has been handed down from generation to generation to carry on the maple traditions.

We are passionate about connecting people to the magic spirit and power of the earth’s plants. All natural and wild, the way tea is meant to be.

Wild Canadian Tea, is the official home of The Algonquin Collection (known and loved for 25 years as Algonquin Tea Company/ATC Medicinals), Wild @Heart and Pine Tea.

In our Algonquin Collection and Pine Tea all our local herbs are plants that are natural to the Algonquin bioregion —ethically wild harvested, hand picked and certified organic.

Wild@Heart are gourmet black, green and chai teas blended with our organic wildcrafted Canadian herbs.

We are a collective of dedicated Earth lovers who have a vision of sharing the magical, medicinal, wild and sacred plants of the Canadian wilderness where we live. No fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides or herbicides are used in or near where our herbs are grown, picked or sourced.

Since 1981, we have slowly increased our land base to 400 acres, milking 50 mixed breed cows on a 90–96% grass-fed diet, based on the time of year.

It has taken a lot of hard work, time and dedication to grow our business, but with vision, passion & support networks in place, we have made our dream a reality and continue to develop a plan for product line growth and integrating our local community into our lifestyle. As a result of our determination, we have been recognized for our hard work and innovation by receiving the Regional Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence (2016) and being 1 of 4 finalists for the Ontario Outstanding Young Farmer Program (2017).

We produce a diverse salad mix with 20 vegetables, herbs and wild edibles from global east and west. We passionately preserve our harvest, especially through fermentation. Through cultivating diversity, we envision a garden space for community conversations around connected traditions and a shared future.
Did you know that St-Albert Cheese Coop is one of the oldest cooperatives in Canada?

As early as the late 19th century, master cheesemakers in a charming Eastern Ontario village were already producing a high quality Cheddar: the St-Albert. Founding President Louis Génier and his nine partners could hardly have imagined back on January 8, 1894, that their little cheese factory would shape the history of the entire community and become a true regional institution.

In 2014, as the Co-operative was ready to mark its 120th anniversary, it emerged from its ashes, stronger than ever, with modern facilities, increased production capacity and an iron will, with but one goal in mind: to continue the tradition by producing the best cheddars and dairy products in the country.

Pickling Dixie

Pickling Dixie Limited provides field to table products, but specializes in small batch preserves. Established in 2017, we provide over 50 unique and traditional products in the season.

We have 4 children, aged 14 to 2 who you will find barefoot running around the gardens and farm, and tableside at most farmers markets and events.

Our preserves and products are created from our produce grown right here, beginning with our heirloom organic seeds. Each season, produce and fruits are hand tended and produce the greatest preserves you have all come to know and enjoy. We offer wholesale to local businesses, so you can find our preserves in many great stores in the Ottawa Valley.

Our products are created within our on-site food premise, and our recipes are provided and approved to our local RCDHU.

We offer a seasonal CSA subscriptions of our organic veggies, fruits and flowers as well as bulk meat options for our pork and beef. You can also purchase our meats, preserves, produce and flowers at our local farmers markets and inside our farm shop in season.

Thank you for being part of our business since 2017, and we continue to grow every year because of your support.
