Érablière J.B. Caron
Mylène Caron & Frédéric Tremblay Carle
The family sugar shack was founded in 1936 by one of the pillars of our family, Jean-Baptiste Caron and his wife Fidélia Ladouceur. J.B. Caron are obviously the initials of Jean-Baptiste, but it was only after the 3rd generation that the name of the business was changed to L’Érablière J.B. Caron in memory of its founder.
In 1950, Gérald Caron, son of Jean-Baptiste and Fidélia, and his wife Mercedes Carpentier took over the sugar shack until 1985.
In 1990, the couple’s 4 sons took over, devoting themselves to maple syrup production. In 1999, Paul Caron and his wife Monique Arsenault became the owners and made major investments, including building a reception hall to serve traditional sugar shack meals and host events of all kinds for the rest of the year.
Now in her 4th generation as a maple syrup producer and with nearly 18,000 taps, Mylène Caron, daughter of Paul and Monique, and her husband Frédéric Tremblay Carle are taking over the reins of Érablière J.B. Caron.
What unites them all is a love of nature and, above all, of the pleasures of the maple tree, which are synonymous with good food.
The Érablière J.B. Caron has been handed down from generation to generation to carry on the maple traditions.
