Originally from the South of France, Chef Yannick Anton received his training at the Lycée Hôtelier de Nice. Chef Anton was appointed to Executive Chef of Signatures Restaurant in November 2006. He began his career with Chef Michel Devillers at L’Ane Rouge,a highly coveted Michelin star restaurant.

He has prepared State Dinners for world leaders such as Vicente Fox, former President of Mexico, George Bush, former President of the United States and Wu-Jin Tao, President of the People’s Republic of China.

“It is our personal goal to get our friends, family and loved ones back to the table around fresh, wholesome, well prepared food – and now our table includes you.” This is the guiding philosophy of The Red Apron and three years ago, Jo-Ann and Jennifer, both successful food industry entrepreneurs, teamed up to create the company which offers “sophisticated comfort food” for pick-up or delivery.

Red Apron meals are prepared on site, using locally produced ingredients to the fullest extent possible. The menu details are available online and clients are able to select portions and schedules to suit their needs. For the convenience of drop-in shoppers the ‘Retail Pantry’ stocks a wide selection of fresh and frozen entrees as well as fresh daily ‘Art-is-in’ breads, fresh or frozen desserts and fresh daily pies along with preserves, pickles, sauces, fair trade organic coffee and teas.

“Table Talk” food fact notes are included with each Red Apron meal and all packaging is biodegradable, recyclable or re-usable.

An internationally practiced chef and three highly trained restaurant professionals form the experienced team that in 2006 launched the branch, to “host and be a home to those who seek and produce visual, culinary and musical arts”.  Chef Bruce Enloe began his training at his parents’ restaurant in Texas, then gained the experience and expertise which culminated in a successful career at The Millennium in San Francisco.  Co-author of “The Artful Vegan” cookbook in 1991, Bruce’s menus reflect his commitment to sustainable, locally sourced, ethically raised, organic products.  Live music, fund-raisers and special events are features of the the branch’s mandate to engage and support their own community and beyond.

With five decades of experience in the food industry between them (bakery, restaurant, catering, natural foods store, organic gardening), they bring to the restaurant the expertise necessary to fulfill their promise that everything on the extensive menu is prepared on site.

Established in 1988, The Green Door qualifies as “Ottawa’s oldest and best known vegetarian restaurant.”  The menu reflects the seasonal harvest of locally grown organic produce and the casual ambiance is enjoyable for both newcomers and regulars.  They offer a catering service for large and small groups.  ‘The Green Door Cookbook, 2nd edition’ is available, as are gift cards and funky t-shirts featuring Ron’s original art.
